Effects of Customized 3D-Printed Insoles in Patients with Foot-Related Musculoskeletal Ailments—A Survey-Based Study

The prevalence of individuals with flat feet and high arches is very (between 15% to 37%), which can often lead other orthopedic complications. Three-dimensional-printed insoles are being studied validated for their effects in correcting these highly prevalent foot disorders. Highly customizable parameters while printing the insole allows precise correction biomechanics. In this study, 200 patients suffering from various foot-related problems joint pain were given 3d-printed (designed using plantar pressure systems clinical practitioner’s assessment) use footwear. Tested activities included standing, walking, running, sports, gym workout. Customization custom density, heel cup, rise, medial arch height, lateral wedge. Based on patient history, additional podiatry elements provided diabetes. Each was designed as per profile shoe a comfortable fit. These found be effective alleviating more than 90% longer life cycle orthotic (for >16 months daily use). This paper presents post-use (6–18 months) 3D-printed insoles.
