Effects of Cr Microalloying on Structural Evolution, Crystallization Behavior and Micromechanical Properties of ZrCoAlCr Bulk Metallic Glass

This paper deals with the role of minor addition Cr on atomic rearrangement and crystallization evolution in a Zr-based bulk metallic glass. For this purpose, elements 1–4% percentage were added into alloying composition. The X-ray diffraction results indicated that trace element led to increase disordered structures glassy alloy decline population short medium scale orders. event was due intensification structural heterogeneity which manifested change enthalpy relaxation. differential scanning calorimetry analysis also showed all ZrCoAlCr BMG samples included two distinct peaks during heating process. However, content low temperature peak. result consistent viscosity analysis, decrement intensified at range peak rise content. Moreover, it found although plasticity improved Cr-content, strength slight decrease.
