Allergic Contact Dermatitis Induced by Textile Necklace
Allergic contact dermatitis to textile dyes is considered to be a rare phenomenon. A recent review reported a prevalence of contact allergy to disperse dyes between 0.4 and 6.7%. The relevance of positive patch testing was not reported in all studies. Textile dye allergy is easily overlooked and is furthermore challenging to investigate as textile dyes are not labelled on clothing. In this repo...
متن کاملAllergic contact dermatitis in a dental nurse induced by methacrylates.
Allergy to acrylic plastics is rather frequent among doctors and dental technicians. A rare case of allergy to acrylates in a dental nurse (only one reports can be found in the literature) is presented. The patient reacted to eight chemical compounds of the group under study. UV-cured composites used in conservative dentistry for tooth filling was the source of allergy in the case under report.
متن کاملAnti-Allergic Effect of Ulmus davidiana Cortex on Contact Dermatitis Induced by Dinitrofluoro- Benzene in Mice
OBJECTIVE The root bark of Ulmus davidiana var. Japonica (Ulmi Radicis cortex, URC) is a medicinal herb used for promoting diuresis and treating dampness. In Korea, URC has long been used as an efficacious therapy for inflammation, burns, frostbite and skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. METHODS In the present study, we used 1-fluoro-2,4- dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB)-induced contact de...
متن کاملAllergic Contact Dermatitis in Children
Contact allergy (CA), a pathologic response after (usually repeated) contact to environmental substances of low molecular weight occurring in a varying proportion of exposed persons, often results in clinical disease, allergic contact dermatitis (ACD), which can be disabling. CA is diagnosed by patch testing, a technique of controlled exposure of patients suspected to have ACD to a standardized...
متن کاملMechanisms of chemical-induced innate immunity in allergic contact dermatitis.
Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is one of the most prevalent occupational skin diseases and causes severe and long-lasting health problems in the case of chronification. It is initiated by an innate inflammatory immune response to skin contact with low molecular weight chemicals that results in the priming of chemical-specific, skin-homing CD8(+) Tc1/Tc17 and CD4(+) Th1/Th17 cells. Following ...
