Effects of Bio-Coal Briquette for Residential Combustion on Brown Carbon Emission Reduction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Biomass burning is an important source of brown carbon (BrC) which poses high-risk threats to human health and the environment. In this study, bio-coal briquette (coal mixed with biomass), a promising solid fuel for residential combustion, proven be clean can effectively reduce BrC emission. First all, orthogonal experiment three factors levels on physical property bio-briquette was carried out identify optimal preparation conditions including ratio biomass anthracite, particle size molding pressure. Then combustion briquetted implemented in simulated system. emission (EFs) were calculated based detected black (BC) concentration by aethalometer, other optical characteristics organic components extract samplers, such as mass absorption efficiency (MAE) angstrom index (AAE), also explored. Lastly, composition analysis gas chromatography (GC) tandem spectrometer (MS) direct visible images scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigated provide more detail information EFs change. It shown that had low 70–81% reduced comparison interpolation value 100% coal. Furthermore, from different, consisted substances strong wavelength dependence. Consequently, although MAE declined 60% at 540 nm wavelength, AAE only decreased slightly compared values. To specific, tar balls, main existing form BrC, distributed much sparsely SEM image briquette. sum up, positive reduction effect discovered evident serve alternative beneficial both atmosphere.

Emission factors and light absorption properties of brown carbon from household coal combustion in China
Brown carbon (BrC) draws increasing attention due to its effects on climate and other environmental factors. In China, household coal burned for heating and cooking purposes releases huge amounts of carbonaceous particles every year; however, BrC emissions have rarely been estimated in a persuasive manner due to the unavailable emission characteristics. Here, seven coals jointly covering geolog...

متن کاملEstimation of atmospheric iodine emission from coal combustion
Coal combustion is the primary anthropogenic source of atmospheric iodine, which has important environmental and health effects. The iodine distribution in Chinese coals and the atmospheric iodine emission factors of coal-fired boilers are studied to estimate the iodine atmospheric flux from coal combustion in China from 1995 to 2009. The national average iodine content weighted by coal yield f...
