Effects of antioxidant use on semen storage in honey bees

چکیده
Although there are many studies for the storage of semen in honey bees, desired success has not been achieved, and more study is needed this area. It reported that percentage bee egg-laying queen bees fertilized with stored semen, especially long-term conditions below expected rate despite viability rate. The reason situation spermatozoa negatively affected by freezing processes due to their very fragile sensitive structure. However, natural mating, can remain healthy years bee's spermatheca. known enzymatic antioxidants special proteins spermatheca, as well a suitable environment spermatozoa. Manipulating made during adverse effects on spermatozoon function fertility. In particular, current antioxidant substances against cold shock, which among damages occur being investigated, protective determined. For purpose, it aimed improve using properties. purpose review give information about use semen.

A Look into the Cell: Honey Storage in Honey Bees, Apis mellifera
Honey bees, Apis species, obtain carbohydrates from nectar and honeydew. These resources are ripened into honey in wax cells that are capped for long-term storage. These stores are used to overcome dearth periods when foraging is not possible. Despite the economic and ecological importance of honey, little is known about the processes of its production by workers. Here, we monitored the usage o...
متن کاملEffects of Vitamin E Addition to Chicken Semen on Sperm Quality During in Vitro Storage of Semen
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the probable effects of the vitamin E addition in different levels to the extender of chicken semen on spermatozoa quality during storage of semen at 4°C for 0, 3, 6, 10 and 24 hours. Eight young Ross broiler breeder strain 308 roosters were used in this experiment. The collected semen from all roosters was mixed together and diluted with modified a Rin...
متن کاملEffects of insect growth regulators on honey bees and non-Apis bees. A review
The insect growth regulators (IGRs) are ecdysone or juvenile hormone mimics, or chitin synthesis inhibitors. They are more likely to be hazardous to larval insects than to adults. Application of JH mimics to adult honey bees may affect foraging behaviour and some physiological traits. Topical and feeding tests revealed that application of IGRs to larvae may result in death and larval ejection b...
متن کاملthe effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends
flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
