Effects of a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Prevention Education among Girls in 6<sup>th</sup> Grade Elementary School, South Korea

Studies on human papillomavirus (HPV) prevention education and its educational effects for elementary school students are necessary. This study aimed to examine the of knowledge about cervical cancer, HPV, immunization, attitude immunization among girls in sixth grade South Korea. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design is used. The sample included 131 (Intervention: n = 65, Control: 66) Human contents definition papillomavirus, types human-papillomavirus-related diseases, methods, vaccines, vaccination effects, costs, frequency 12-year-old girls, recommended age. was applied intervention a total one 40-minute class classroom. There were statistically significant differences cancer ( t 9.712, p < .001), HPV 9.638, 5.178, 3.113, .002) between groups. suggests that an effective improving immunization. In public health education, can be implied Korean school.
