چکیده
The present study deals with the establishment of rolA-transgenic and rolB-transgenic plants for first time through Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated transformation, exploiting inherent morphogenic potential an important medicinal plant, Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst. showed integration expression rolA rolB genes respectively, whereas Ri-transformed rolA, rolB, rolC rolD genes. Morphogenic different types explants derived from rolA-transgenic, on basal medium was evaluated. Shoot organogenesis enhanced significantly in leaf (1.6-fold) internode (1.4-fold) plants, (2.4-fold) as well (5.2-fold) (3.3-fold) compared to non-transformed plants. Substantial increase root also noticed (1.7-fold) explants, (3.6-fold) (4.1-fold) (1.9-fold) ones. In addition this, growth tip shoot regeneration but not roots. Clones each transgenic plant line harboring rol depicted notable phenotypic changes including reduced length, increased number nodes/plant, leaves/plant roots/plant. morphology altered Insertion genes, individual or combination, rhizogenes resulted excised alteration phenotype maintained vitro.

Improvement of pseudojujubogenin glycosides production from regenerated Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst. and enhanced yield by elicitors.
Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst. was studied for shoot induction and regeneration on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with different plant growth regulators. Stem explants cultured on medium containing 0.1 mg/l thidiazuron (TDZ) resulted in the highest number of shoots (117 shoots/explant). Regenerated plants from medium with 0.5 mg/l TDZ contained the highest level of pseudojujubogenin...

Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst. (family Scrophulariaceae) is a creeping, glabrous, succulent herb, rooting at nodes whose habitat includes wetlands and muddy shores. Commonly known as Brahmi, the plant is 10-30 cm long with 1-2 mm thick, soft, glabrous stem having ascending branches. The leaves are 0.6-2.5 cm long and 3-8 mm broad. Flowers of brahmi are white or pale-bluish in colour, axillary, so...

متن کاملEfficient plant regeneration from leaf explants of Bacopa monniera (L.) Wettst. : A threatened medicinal herb
An efficient plant regeneration protocol was developed from leaf and internode (stem) explants of Bacopa monniera L. on MS basal medium, supplemented with Cytokinins like BAP, KN, and TDZ used singly. The leaf cultures expressed maximum plant regeneration potential with 138.9 ± 0.50 shoots per explants on MS + 2.0 mg/ l BAP. The in vitro regenerated dwarf shoots were further elongated on MS med...

A study was conducted to evaluate bacoside (expressed as sum of bacoside A3 and A2) production on a monthly basis in net house grown plants of Bacopa monnieri (accession BM001) collected from Jammu region. Bacoside content differed during the course of the whole year. The whole herb is used commercially for extracting the memory enhancing molecule bacosides from the plant. The study significant...
