چکیده
Deficiencies of Selenium (Se) is correlated with the risk and onset autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD). The aim this study was to determine association between Se supplementation AITD. Methods: Electronic data searches 4 databases were performed. We assessed included studies using PRISMA for protocol assurance. Five met our inclusion criteria analyzed. predictor covariate in present administration. outcome measures levels peroxidase antibodies (TPO-Ab), thyroglobulin antibody (Tg-Ab), free thyroxine (fT4), volume. Results: Of five that criteria, one randomized controlled trial (RCT) qualitative review, whereas four quasi-experimental meta-analysis. results showed significantly reduced TPO-Ab (MD 90.85; 95% CI 61.71–120.00; p<0.00001) fT4 1.52; CI, 0.55–2.50; p=0.002), while RCT Tg-Ab levels. Conclusions: reduces children adolescents limited number population sizes emergence further especially RCTS are needed make a better meta-analysis

Selenium Status in Autoimmune Thyroiditis.
UNLABELLED Selenium (Se) is an important element that exerts its effects through selenoproteins. The thyroid gland has the highest Se concentration and specific selenoprotein enzymes families are crucial in the thyroid hormone metabolism. There is little evidence on the link between Se and thyroid autoimmune disease, therefore future studies are required to elucidate the nature of this associ a...

PURPOSE To determine the frequency of autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) and the risk of development of thyroid dysfunction in children with Turner syndrome. METHODS From 1988 to 1998, 77 children with Turner syndrome were prospectively followed up at National Taiwan University Hospital. The mean (+/- standard deviation) age of these patients was 10.0 +/- 4.7 years at diagnosis of Turner syndrome a...

▼ Iodine and selenium (Se) are both essential elements to thyroid hormone economy, while they represent key players in the development of autoimmune thyroiditis. Chronic high iodine intake has been associated in various studies with increased frequency of autoimmune thyroiditis. In susceptible individuals, iodine excess increases intra-thyroid infiltrating Th17 cells and inhibits T regulatory (...
