Effectiveness of dexamethasone and ondansetron in postoperative nausea and vomiting in laparoscopy cholecystectomy.

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of combination dexamethasone and ondansetron in prevention postoperative nausea vomiting laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Study Design: Descriptive Case Series study. Setting: Departments Surgery, Khyber Teaching Hospital Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar. Period: 01 Jan 2018 to 31 May 2019. Material & Methods: A total 231 patients undergoing cholecystectomies were included study subjected with followed up at 24 hours after surgery detect vomiting. Results: The mean age sample was 38.5 + 10.4 years. In our study, we had 62.3% males 37.7% female patients. On follow up, observed that PONV recorded 39.4% which grade 1 15.2%, 2 14.7% 3 9.5%. this regards, Ondansetron 60.6% Conclusion: is moderately effective post operative
