Effectiveness in the removal of bioceramic sealers versus conventional sealers: systematic review and meta-analysis

This study aimed to carry out a systematic review evaluate the effectiveness in removing bioceramic sealers compared conventional commonly used, evaluated through percentage of remaining material. The electronic search was carried following databases: MEDLINE (PubMed), Embase, Web Science, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and gray literature, at Brazilian Digital Library Theses Dissertations (BDTD). Two independent researchers conducted survey identify studies, without restrictions on year language publication, using PICO strategy until month August 2020. A total 80 titles were retrieved initial search, however, only 9 studies included for qualitative synthesis 5 quantitative synthesis. descriptive results indicated that average time taken remove filling material longer bioceramics by approximately 67% this condition, with regard establishment patency, no difference detected between sealers. It could be observed presented lower amount than (p = 0.01) both overall analysis subgroups. removal sealer proved inferior sealers, greater amounts root canals after endodontic retreatment. use has gained space practice. However, it is not yet known whether these affect canal fillings during retreatments.
