Effective learner engagement strategies in visual presentations

An efficient teacher needs to communicate effectively with the audience, which in turn largely depends on an engaging presentation. The goal of any presentation is inform, entertain, persuade or inspire and academic presentations primarily provide information, as a classroom lecture conference research paper.The department medical education at our institute has been conducting ‘National course educational sciences for teachers health professionals’ since last four decades. Since 2015, newer learner engagement strategies (LES) were incorporated into program. We analysed feedback data from participants aim understand impact implementation LES course. Literature was further explored identify other practice. collected five national courses conducted during 2018 2020 Institute. in-campus faculty development course, spread over 6 days, consists about 42 sessions involving nearly 28 presentations. One hundred thirty-five (n= 135) all India had participated this period under review. Newer must be used engage new generation learners best way by having interactive structured narrative that holds their attention allows them participate process. Medical should make themselves familiar digital tools help teaching. Further prospective studies need carried out outcomes improve engagement.
