Effect of viscosity on entropy generation for laminar flow in helical pipes

چکیده

Entropy generation for fully developed laminar flow in a helical pipe carrying high viscous fluid under constant temperature boundary conditions is investigated analytically. This work focuses on geometrical, fluid, and thermal aspects their influence irreversibilities coils. The effect of viscosity the its operating parameters coil are studied with second law thermodynamics. most commonly used relationships estimating change due to selected analysis. entropy avoidable exergy destruction each case presented. Bejan number plotted varying viscosities different wall temperatures both heat transfer from fluid. thermodynamic potential improvement based unavoidable concepts showed that heating cooling condition considerable given tubes. model influences optimum temperature, thereby giving an insight into selection proper model. not affected by properties temperature. pumping ratio evaluated it found optimal value influenced viscosity.
