چکیده

Abstract Enteric bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. are significant fish pathogens related to thousands of cases food-borne diseases every year in human. Since aquatic environments reservoirs these pathogens, they may contaminate the food result outbreaks. Therefore, it is crucial reduce or eliminate from aquaculture facilities. We tested effectiveness three commonly used chemicals, viz., lime, hydrogen peroxide zeolite on bacterial load, under laboratory earthen pond conditions where were applied at a dose recommended for freshwater aquaculture. Results bacteriological study showed that lime had role reducing abundance an initial value 1.5 × 10 3 1.9 cfu/ml 3.9 6.3 final 1.2 within 24 h aquaria condition, respectively. A complete inactivation E. was observed treated ponds post-treatment, whereas remained unaffected water but inactivated aquarium condition after same period. However, neither nor treatment reduced total count well even 1-week post-treatment. It is, therefore, chemicals should be appropriate dose, farmers need adopt biosecurity measures ensure safety.

In this study, it has been our purpose to isolate and serotype enteropathogenic E. coli, salmonella and shigella and determine their resistance to antibiotics. 502 swab specimens were collected during mid-July to midNovember. 1986. from two children's hospitals in Tenran. From 502 cultured specimens. 108 specimens were positive for salmonella. shigella and enteropathogenic E. coli. corresp...

Survival of Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. in estuarine environments.

Survival of Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. in estuarine waters was compared over a variety of seasonal temperatures during in situ exposure in diffusion chambers. Sublethal stress was measured by both selective-versus-resuscitative enumeration procedures and an electrochemical detection method. E. coli and Salmonella spp. test suspensions, prepared to minimize sublethal injury, were expos...

Draft Genome Sequences of Three O157 Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli Isolates

We report the draft genome sequences of three enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) isolates that display the O157 serogroup but do not have the Shiga toxin genes (stx), which are characteristic of O157 enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC). E. coli strain RN587/1 has the O157:H8 serotype and possesses the EAF plasmid characteristic of typical EPEC (J. B. Kaper, J. P. Nataro, and H. L. Mobley, Na...

Relationship between Frequency of Escherichia Coli and Prevalence of Salmonella and Shigella Spp. in a Natural River

Introduction: Microbial contamination prediction through detecting the indicator bacteria in natural waters is the first health and environmental step for preventing the transmission of water-associated diseases. This study was designed to determine the correlation between Escherichia coli as the indicator bacterium, on the one hand, and Salmonella and Shigella Spp. As the pathogenic bacteria, ...

Antimicrobial Resistant Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. in Houseflies Infesting Fish in Food Markets in Zambia

Diarrhea is one of the most common diseases and is a leading cause of death in developing countries. This is often caused by contaminated food. Poor food hygiene standards are exacerbated by the presence of flies which can transmit a variety of infectious microorganisms, particularly through animal source foods. This fact becomes especially important in developing countries like Zambia, where f...
