چکیده
Fibre Metal Laminates are structures used primarily in aerospace applications because of their principal advantages such as high strength, lower density, and impact resistance. In the present work, a systematic assessment has been made to evaluate two different stacking sequences FMLs (Type – I (AA 6061/Carbon Fibre/AA 6061), Type II (Carbon Fibre)) against pure carbon composite - III) baseline for improvement. The investigations enhanced resistance, improved tensile increased flexural capability, microstructural evolution, surface composition. Mechanical-based testing resulted that shows significant performance followed by II. maximum values test, ultimate load bearing capacity during test were around 192.92 MPa, 9.3 J, 155 N, respectively. Correlations experimental results drawn numerical simulation validate results. Microstructural evolution indicated good bonding capability FML with fibre. EDX analysis was carried out analyse chemistry. Selected Laminate sequence can help improving aeronautical industry's structural ductile properties together fatigue strength

Image Characterization of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Composites
A new methodology to detect fibres orientation in composite materials, using image processing tools is introduced. Several examples with manufacturing defects are studied using RIMAPS technique and the Variogram method. The characterization is made from digitized images of the samples. Combined use of RIMAPS and Variogram analyses identified the orientation of fibres and determined the values o...

In this paper the effect of hardener on mechanical properties of carbon reinforced phenolic resin composites is investigated. Carbon fibre is one of the most useful reinforcement materials in composites, its major use being the manufacture of components in the aerospace, automotive, and leisure industries. In this study, carbon fibres are hot pressed with phenolic resin with various percentages...
متن کاملDrilling of carbon fibre reinforced laminates – a study
The distinguishing characteristics of carbon fibre reinforced laminates, like low weight, high strength or stiffness, had resulted in an increase of their use during the last decades. Although parts are normally produced to “near-net” shape, machining operations like drilling are still needed. In result of composites non-homogeneity, this operation can lead to delamination, considered the most ...
