Effect of Rotor Geometry on Bending Stiffness Variation

چکیده

Bending stiffness variation (BSV) is a common problem causing vibration in large rotating machinery. BSV describes lateral bending and its as function of the rotational angle. It has been observed that causes excitation exactly twice per revolution, which leads to problems, especially at half critical speed. caused by rotor geometry errors if material assumed be homogeneous linearly elastic. Therefore, study investigated with harmonic roundness components, are commonly used industry describe rotor. Hence, results easily applicable industry. The research was conducted primarily analytical means, but also static simulations numeric calculations were used. clearly showed when effect single components cross-sections observed, only second component could produce BSV. However, pairs studied, they produced without component. If included, profile most aggressively. A generated arbitrary profile, including 3–50 random phases amplitudes, indicated occurs always revolution despite different profile. improve possibilities eliminating excessive industry, certain can avoided.

Effects of asymmetric stiffness on parametric instabilities of rotor

This work deals with effects of asymmetric stiffness on the dynamic behaviour of the rotor system. The analysis is presented through an extended Lagrangian Hamiltonian mechanics on the asymmetric rotor system, where symmetries are broken in terms of the rotor stiffness. The complete dynamics of asymmetries of rotor system is investigated with a case study. In this work, a mathematical model is ...

The Effect of Damping and Stiffness of Bearing on the Natural Frequencies of Rotor-bearing System

In this paper, the effectiveness of stiffness and damping of bearing is investigated on the natural frequencies of the rotor-bearing system. The rotor-bearing system consists of a shaft, two bearings and a disk between two bearings. Parallel spring-damper in horizental and vertical directions is considered for modeling the stiffness and damping of bearings. The gyroscopic effect is also conside...

Bending Stiffness of Aluminium Foams

The basic manufacturing processes of cellular materials have been briefly noted as well as the metal foam properties. The most widely used are the aluminium foams due to the following properties: very good insulation (thermal insulation and sound absorption), low density (mass), high specific rigidity in sandwich structures, very good impact damping, corrosion resistance, non-flammability, very...
