چکیده
Aim: The aim of this study will be to perform respiratory physiotherapy on patients with sleep bruxism and associated events (apnea hypopnea). Methodology: a randomized, controlled, double-blind, clinical trial sample individuals events. Respiratory (inspiratory and/or expiratory) performed using the THRESHOLD IMT PEP results compared placebo group. Discussion: Regarding events, there is broad variety possible treatments for apnea depending physiopathology, severity patient preference, CPAP considered gold standard. However, data are inconsistent, adherence therapy reported between 45 89%. Thus, other forms treatment proposed, including training. Understanding obstructive syndrome as loss dilation strength pharynx inability maintain path open air, muscle training could assist in increasing strength, enabling passage air during sleep. Taking into consideration that may hypopnea, intervention treat related have positive impact (rhythmic activity masticatory muscles). To determine this, we measure apnea/hypopnea index (AHI) number contractions masseter (characteristic bruxism) before after polysomnography. Trial registration: was registered REBEC platform: RBR-9F6JKM (ensaiosclinicos.gov.br).

متن کاملShort-course antimicrobial therapy for paediatric respiratory infections (SAFER): study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
BACKGROUND Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is commonly diagnosed in children. The Infectious Disease Society of America guidelines recommend 10 days of high-dose amoxicillin for the treatment of non-severe CAP but 5-day "short course" therapy may be just as effective. Randomized trials in adults have already demonstrated non-inferiority of 5-day short-course treatment for adults hospitalized...
