چکیده
ObjectivesAlthough colorectal cancer bowel segment location has been shown to independently predict the outcomes in early stage disease, it not previously studied setting of pulmonary metastases. We sought determine whether affects survival after metastasectomy.MethodsPatients who had undergone metastasectomy for at a single institution from 2011 2018 were reviewed. Univariable and multivariable Cox regression analyses performed identify predictors overall disease-free survival. The Kaplan-Meier method was used differences between groups.ResultsA total 194 patients evaluated. median follow-up, time, 5-year rate 36.8 months, 75.8 57%, respectively, 122 (63%) experienced disease recurrence any location. On univariable analysis, age, primary tumor location, nodule size, ≥3 nodules, intrathoracic nodal associated with left-sided tumors benefit (hazard ratio, 0.31; P = .036). analysis revealed time 90 months (95% confidence interval, 82 reached) compared 55 49 rectal tumors, (P .078). Location on regression.ConclusionsWe found that is prolonged metastasectomy. Future investigations are required validity such findings, including effect prognostication candidates

Effect of adjuvant chemotherapy after pulmonary metastasectomy on the prognosis of colorectal cancer
BACKGROUND Adjuvant chemotherapy after resection of colorectal cancer (CRC) lung metastases may reduce recurrences and improve survival. We investigated the effects of adjuvant chemotherapy after curative resection of lung CRC metastases on prognosis. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed records of our patients undergoing pulmonary metastasectomy from CRC between January 2000-March 2014. Data ...
متن کاملSurvival after Liver Metastasectomy in Colorectal Cancer Cases in Turkey
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common diagnosed malignancy in the world and is the second leading cause of cancer death in developed countries (Rebecca et al., 2012). Colorectal cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer and cancer related deaths among both men and women in Turkey. Distant metastasis is the main cause of death in CRC patients. The liver is the most frequent (approx...
متن کاملPost-pulmonary metastasectomy prognosis after curative resection for colorectal cancer
PURPOSE We aimed to compare disease-free survival after pulmonary metastasectomy to that after hepatic metastasectomy, and to identify prognostic factors after pulmonary metastasectomy. RESULTS Between 2005 and 2015, 129 patients underwent resection of isolated metachronous lung metastases from colorectal cancer. Three-year DFS after pulmonary metastasectomy was similar to that after hepatic ...
متن کاملPredicting survival after pulmonary metastasectomy for colorectal cancer: previous liver metastases matter
BACKGROUND Few patients with lung metastases from colorectal cancer (CRC) are candidates for surgical therapy with a curative intent, and it is currently impossible to identify those who may benefit the most from thoracotomy. The aim of this study was to determine the impact of various parameters on survival after pulmonary metastasectomy for CRC. METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis...
متن کاملPulmonary metastasectomy in colorectal cancer: the PulMiCC trial.
In March 2010, a randomized trial called Pulmonary Metastasectomy in Colorectal Cancer (PulMiCC) was launched and is open to recruitment. The evidence for pulmonary metastasectomy reviewed in this supplement includes no randomized trials. Claims for a survival benefit for patients undergoing this surgery rely on case series. Furthermore, there is little documentation of any symptoms attributabl...
