Effect of Polyethyleneimine Cationic Surfactant on Morphology and Corrosion Resistance of Electrodeposited Ni-Co-SiC Composite Coatings

Ni-Co-SiC composite coatings were prepared by modified watt-type plating solution with 40 nm SiC particles. The effects of polyethyleneimine (PEI) on the dispersion nanoparticles and hardness corrosion resistance studied. electrode reaction process was measured cyclic voltammetry. results showed that when PEI concentration 0.06 g/L, peak current highest. distribution in relatively uniform coating flat dense. With increase concentration, a trend increasing first then decreasing. at their best g/L PEI. Pretreatment effectively avoided competitive adsorption surfactant other additives surface preferentially adsorbed particles pretreatment. Steric formed, which inhibited agglomeration make more evenly dispersed into coating. significantly increased 119.26 Hv, improved accordingly.
