Effect of Pilot Injection Strategy on Performance of Diesel Engine under Ethanol/F-T Diesel Dual-Fuel Combustion Mode

To reduce emissions and save energy, alternative fuel dual-fuel mode have been widely applied in the field of diesel engines. The pilot injection has potential to engine vibration noise pollutant emissions. effects a strategy on performance an ethanol/F-T were experimentally investigated four-cylinder four-stroke common rail modified with ethanol system. results indicate that variation combustion characteristic parameters timing is nonlinear difference small, while soot, NOx, CO tend decrease, increase timing. With amount, pmax, duration, soot increased; pmax phase CA50 closer TDC; HRRmax ignition delay period decreased. BSFC tends BTE shows opposite trend. value range COVpmax are small. effect amount more significant. research presented this paper can provide reference directions for formulation NOx without worsening process presenting insufficient economy.
