چکیده

The present work investigates the effect of pilot fuel properties on TF combustion using premixed methane-hydrogen-air (CH4-H2-air) mixtures ignited by a small amount diesel pilot. Especially, we are investigating cetane number (CN) and aromatic content (AC) in single-cylinder compression ignition (CI) engine at varying charge air temperatures (Tair = 25 °C, 40 55 °C) H2 volume fractions (MH2 10%, 20%, 40% 60%) lean mixture conditions (equivalence ratio ? 0.5). novelty main findings consist following features: 1) besides concentration charge-air temperature, also play crucial role combustion, even could dramatically affect performance stability, 2) CN AC key factors delay time (IDT) indicated thermal efficiency (ITE), 3) in-cylinder pressure oscillation analysis based novel Superlets (SL) approach indicates that important to states stability.

Combustion Characteristics of a Diesel-hydrogen Dual Fuel Engine

Among the alternative fuels, hydrogen shows great potential in the near future. In the present study, hydrogen utilization as diesel engine fuel was investigated. Hydrogen can not be used directly in a diesel engine due to its autoignition temperature higher than that of diesel fuel. One alternative method is to use hydrogen in enrichment or induction. To investigate the combustion characterist...

Impact of Premixed Kerosene Fuel on Performance, Emission and Combustion Characteristics in Partial HCCI Engine

Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) is an advanced combustion strategy that able to reduce nitric oxides (NOx) emissions and increase fuel efficiency simultaneously. This study investigated the effects of premixed kerosene fuel on the auto-ignition characteristics in a light-duty compression ignition engine. A partial HCCI engine was modified from a single cylinder, four-stroke, dire...

Simulation of Dual Fuel Combustion of Direct Injection Engine with Variable Natural Gas Premixed Ratio

Nowadays, the major challenge of diesel engines development is simultaneous nitrogen oxides and soot emissions reduction without the thermal efficiency drop. Hence, different combustion concepts should be investigated to reach optimum emission and performance conditions in diesel engines without expensive aftertreatment systems. This paper presents the results of a study on a dual fuel (DF) eng...
