چکیده

Purpose: Positive expiratory pressure (PEP) exhalation during exercise is reported to improve body adaptation and enhance the tolerance in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Wearing mouthguards results lower oxygen consumption increased performance by increasing PEP athletes. Airway resistance expiration can be manipulated phonation. Thus, aim of our study was examine effects phonated breathing on cardiopulmonary moderate subsequent recovery. Methods: 26 young healthy participants conducted same steady cycling protocol using three different patterns: spontaneous (BrP1), pronouncing sound “h” (BrP2) “sh” (BrP3). Heart rate, consumption, CO2 production, respiratory tidal volume, exchange ratio ventilatory equivalents were measured (Cosmed, Italy) before, 20 minutes after cycling. Data analyzed SPSS, significance level p<0.05. Results: The analysis revealed no significant differences related economy; rate increased, volume decreased compared both patterns exercise; effect BrPs parameters found Conclusion: Our do not confirm assumption that improves economy probably because low intensity applied. Further studies should at higher loads or dysfunction.

Effect of creatine supplementation on oxygen uptake kinetics during submaximal cycle exercise.

The purpose of this study was to test the effect of oral creatine (Cr) supplementation on pulmonary oxygen uptake (VO(2)) kinetics during moderate [below ventilatory threshold (VT)] and heavy (above VT) submaximal cycle exercise. Nine subjects (7 men; means +/- SD: age 28 +/- 3 yr, body mass 73.2 +/- 5.6 kg, maximal VO(2) 46.4 +/- 8.0 ml. kg(-1). min(-1)) volunteered to participate in this stud...

Gender differences in residual effect of prior drop jumps on oxygen uptake during heavy cycling exercise.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Unaccustomed eccentric or eccentric-concentric exercise leaves us stiff and sore the next day and can cause muscle damage. The data about the residual effect of prior eccentric-concentric exercises on oxygen uptake (VO2) during constant cycling exercise in women or the data about differences of such effect between genders are scarce. Therefore, the aim of this study was...

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Cardiovascular and oxygen uptake kinetics during sequential heavy cycling exercises.

The purpose of the present study was to assess the relationship between the rapidity of increased oxygen uptake (VO2) and increased cardiac output (CO) during heavy exercise. Six subjects performed repeated bouts on a cycle ergometer above the ventilatory threshold (approximately 80% of peak VO2) separated by 10-min recovery cycling at 35% peak VO2. VO2 was determined breath-by-breath and CO wa...

Determinants of metabolic cost during submaximal cycling.

The metabolic cost of producing submaximal cycling power has been reported to vary with pedaling rate. Pedaling rate, however, governs two physiological phenomena known to influence metabolic cost and efficiency: muscle shortening velocity and the frequency of muscle activation and relaxation. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the relative influence of those two phenomena on me...
