Effect of Nitrogen Fertilizer and Biochar on Organic Matter Mineralization and Carbon Accretion in Soil

چکیده
Soil carbon (C) mineralization was studied in an incubation experiment comprised of two factors having six organic materials and three nitrogen (N) rates. Cow dung (CD), rice straw (RS), wood ash (WA), cow biochar (CB), (RB) (WB) considering 2.5 g C kg?1 soil along with levels N, i.e., 0, 0.05 0.10 N were mixed 400 used each pot. The pots placed for 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 180 days incubation, soils collected after analyzed N. Irrespective treatment factors, decreased irregular fashion until incubation. From the initial level 1.91%, contents to 1.08, 1.10, 1.06, 1.23, 1.17 1.12% CD, RS, WA, CB, RB WB, respectively, 1.28, 1.11 0.99% soil, at followed order WA > CD RS WB CB. Biochars could supply stable while enhances mineralization; optimization is therefore essential ensure accretion.

Effect of integrated use of biochar, FYM and nitrogen fertilizer on soil organic fertility
The study was conducted to determine the interactive effects of biochar application in combination with farm yard manure (FYM) and nitrogen (N) fertilizer on soil organic matter (SOM) and mineral nitrogen at Agricultural Research Farm of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agricultural University Peshawar in 2010-2011. Soil samples at 0-15 cm depth were collected from maize and mungbean plots at harvest stage (...
متن کاملThe Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...
متن کاملRyegrass - derived pyrogenic organic matter changes organic carbon and nitrogen mineralization in a temperate forest soil
Pyrogenic organic matter (PyOM) is considered as a technique to improve soil fertility and store carbon (C) in soil. However, little is known regarding soil organic C and nitrogen (N) mineralization in PyOM-amended soils. To investigate the relationship between the C and N mineralization rates and the possible consequences in terms of C storage and N availability, we incubated ryegrass-derived ...
متن کاملCarbon mineralizability determines interactive effects on mineralization of pyrogenic organic matter and soil organic carbon.
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a critical and active pool in the global C cycle, and the addition of pyrogenic organic matter (PyOM) has been shown to change SOC cycling, increasing or decreasing mineralization rates (often referred to as priming). We adjusted the amount of easily mineralizable C in the soil, through 1-day and 6-month preincubations, and in PyOM made from maple wood at 350 °C, th...
