Effect of Land Property Rights on Forest Resources in Southern China

The land tenure reform is important for forest resource management worldwide. Since China initiated a new round of collective forestland (CFTR) in 2003, improving output by clarifying property rights plays crucial role realizing sustainable management. Using survey data 312 bamboo plantation households from Southern China, this paper empirically examines the impact path on resources. estimation results show that both use right and disposal are able to significantly improve encouraging invest optimizing allocation forestry labor. Particularly, reveal has positive through investment. With regard right, we find it effect investment, but negative labor allocation. findings study suggest promote growth resources, government should endow with more complete set rights, further strengthen their understanding rights.
