چکیده

This paper is focused on affective and cognitive disorders induced by direct exposure to lead chloride (Pb) the possible implication of oxidative stress in male WISTAR rats. Using stereotaxic surgery, a group wistar rats received an intracerebral injection 3 μL (1 mg / L) into right hippocampus or 0.9% Nacl for shame operated controls groups. After 4 days rest, series benchmark neurobehavioral tests were made evaluate behaviors, such as open field test (OFT) Elevated plus maze (EPM) anxiety like behavior; Forced swim (FST) depressive finally Y (Y-Maze) Morris (MWM) working memory, spatial learning memory. The data showed that Pb induces anxiogenic depressogenic effects but does not induce significant effect Then measuring markers using hippocampal assay lead-treated rats, it’s appears can increase nitrogen monoxide, lipid peroxidation reduces significantly activity superoxide dismutase. Therefore, our results able highly has insignificant impairment.

The Effect of Scopolamine on Avoidance Memory and Hippocampal Neurons in Male Wistar Rats

Introduction: Cholinergic systems are involved in learning and memory. Scopolamine, a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist, is used as a standard/ reference drug for inducing cognitive deficits in healthy humans and animals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of scopolamine on avoidance memory and number of neurons in rat’s hippocampus. . Methods: Thirty five male alb...

The Effect of NO System on Ethidium Bromide-Induced Oxidative Stress in the Hippocampal Formation of Male Rats

Background Acute and chronic effects of nitric oxide on oxidative stress and neuronal demyelination have been reported in human and animal models.  Objective Oxidative stress is involved in the pathogenesis of demyelinated animals; thus, this study investigated the effects of nitric oxide system and ethidium bromide on oxidative stress in the hippocampal formation.   Methods This experimental...

Ameliorative Effect of Vitamin E on Cypermethrin Induced Hepatotoxicity and Oxidative Stress in Male Wistar Rats

The present study was carried out to investigate the ameliorative effect of vitamin E on Cypermethrin induced hepatotoxicity and oxidative stress. For this purpose, a total of 24 rats were randomly divided into four equal groups: group I used as control and groups II, III and IV were orally treated with Cypermethrin (25 mg/kg body weight), Vitamin E (100 mg/kg body weight) and Cypermethrin (25 ...
