Effect of integrated weed-management practices in direct-seeded autumn rice (Oryza sativa) on growth, yield and soil microflora

A study was carried out during the rainy (kharif) season of 2015 and 2016 at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, to evaluate effect 6 weed-management practices on growth, yield soil microflora with 3 different direct-seeded upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties. The percentage grasses higher, followed by broad leaf weeds in variety ‘Maizubiron’ ‘Guni’ critical crop growth period. lowest weed density as well dry weight 20, 40 60 days after sowing (DAS) recorded ‘Inglongkiri’ under integrated management pretilachlor 1.5 kg/ha mechanical weeding which resulted higher weed-control efficiency (36.29 37.62%, respectively) 20 DAS. light transmission ratio ‘Guni’. fungal bacterial populations were reduced 25 herbicide application gradually increased up 50 days. Higher grain harvest index among varieties (1.98 t/ha 43.09, respectively.) 0.75 or combined 30 DAS (1.95 t/ha) (39.33%) over 2 years.
