Effect of innovative bioproducts on air lime mortars

In this work, air lime mortars were bioformulated with two innovative bioproducts, one resulting from iron supplemented Escherichia coli cultures and a second exploiting microbial mixed grown crude glycerol as substrate. The bioproducts lyophilized and, for the mortar formulation, suspended in water used mixing liquid. Workability of was evaluated by flow table consistency 90-days-old samples tested different properties, such thermal conductivity, bulk density, porosimetry, absorption, drying, surface hardness compressive strength. With content to ensure workability, presented higher insulation reduced absorption when compared non-bioformulated control mortar. However, presence decreased strength Contact water, simulating weathering, diminished that decrease. strategy utilized present work meet some goals circular economy approach maximizing natural resources use wastes produce increasing durability.
