چکیده

Eight lactating cows were fed 4 diets in which dietary crude protein (CP) was increased steps of approximately 2 percentage units from 11 to 17% DM by replacing high-moisture corn with soybean meal supplemented rumen-protected Met maintain a Lys:Met ratio 3:1 metabolizable protein. Trial design replicated × Latin square; experimental periods lasted 28 d, data and sample collection being performed during wk 3 each period. Digesta samples collected the rumen as well omasum measure metabolite concentrations ruminal outflow N fractions using infusion 15N-enriched ammonia quantify microbial nonammonia (NAN) nonmicrobial NAN. Data analyzed MIXED procedure SAS (SAS Institute Inc.). There linear increases yields milk true concentration urea N, decrease efficiency, increasing CP. Apparent total-tract digestibility linearly CP, but estimated not affected. other macronutrients influenced diet. Ruminal ammonia, total AA peptides, branched-chain VFA also The 15N enrichment liquid- particle-associated microbes declined CP due decreasing pool. Although no effect on NAN flow detected, 525 g/d at 11% 637 increase 406 482 Under conditions this study, when adding Met, improved driven RUP supply

Effect of dietary crude protein concentration on milk production and nitrogen utilization in lactating dairy cows.

Forty lactating Holstein cows, including 10 with ruminal cannulas, were blocked by days in milk into 8 groups and then randomly assigned to 1 of 8 incomplete 5 x 5 Latin squares to assess the effects of 5 levels of dietary crude protein (CP) on milk production and N use. Diets contained 25% alfalfa silage, 25% corn silage, and 50% concentrate, on a dry matter (DM) basis. Rolled high-moisture sh...

the effects of high non fibrous carbohydrates diet on milk production, inflammation and molecular mechanism of innate immunity in lactating dairy cows

Effect of increasing dietary metabolizable protein on nitrogen efficiency in Holstein dairy cows

OBJECTIVE The objective of the study was to determine the effects of increasing levels of metabolizable protein (MP) on lactation performance and nitrogen (N) efficiencies in lactating dairy cows. METHODS Nine multiparous cows in mid lactation [113±25 days in milk] received three treatments in a 3×3 Latin square design with a period length of 21 days. The treatments were three diets, designed...

Effect of Feeding Quickly Degradable Nitrogen on the Development of Ovarian Follicles in Lactating Dairy Cows

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of an excess intake of quickly degradable nitrogen (QDN) on ovarian follicle development. Twenty lactating dairy cows were fed mixed silage and concentrates twice daily. The control diet was a typical ration for high producing dairy cows in the United Kingdom (crude protein (CP)=17.5%; metabolizable energy (ME)=11.8 MJ/kg DM). The cows were ...
