چکیده

The influence of heat treatment holding temperatures from 600 to 1300 °C on the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in selective laser melted (SLMed) 304L stainless steel is investigated this work. results reveal that there no remarkable microstructure change after at for 2 h, while recrystallization leads a slight decrease grain size temperature range 700–900 °C. 1000 h obviously affects morphology grains SLMed steel. Combining effects coarsening, delta-ferrite (δ) phases reduction residual stress release during lead yield strength an increasing elongation. elongation samples treated 800 is, however, significantly decreased due increase amount sigma (σ) phase. A δ ferrite but ductility h. improved substantial brittle phase (σ). There obvious effect presence behavior.

Effect of Crystallographic Orientation on the Pitting Corrosion Resistance of Laser Surface Melted AISI 304L Austenitic Stainless Steel

The localized corrosion behavior of laser surface melted 304L austenitic stainless steel was studied by potentiodynamic polarization test. The extent of improvement in corrosion resistance was governed by the preferred orientation and the percentage of delta ferrite present on the surface of the laser melted sample. It was established by orientation imaging microscopy that the highest pitting p...
