Effect of exertion on blink reflex parameters in Division I football athletes

Blink reflex assessment has been suggested as a potential marker for sport-related concussions (SRCs) screening. However, exertion level is known to affect the blink reflex, which may clinical utility of sideline screening and post-concussion monitoring. This validation study 44 male college-aged athletes found significant differences in several parameters between baseline active play. In assessing mild moderate/higher intensity, function heart rate, number oscillations was only significantly different parameter two groups. When combining groups (mild intensity) comparing values there were latency, initial velocity, time open, lid excursions. Using data, EyeStat provides greater understanding its application during baseline, exercise
