چکیده
Despite all of the control approaches, tuberculosis (TB) is a major cause death worldwide and one-third world’s population infected with TB. Plant-derived medicines have been used in traditional medicinal system for treatment many ailments worldwide. From last number years, plants advantageous different type diseases producing human beings. The present aim to carry out evaluation antimycobacterial activity selected eleven plants. Three extracts were prepared evaluated its against Mycobacterium smegmatis using Mycobacterial Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) assay. MGIT assay consists liquid broth medium that known yield better recovery faster growth mycobacteria. Isoniazid was as standard antituberculosis drug. percentage anti-mycobacterial among tested plants, aqueous extract Oscimum sanctum, Adhatoda vasica, Leptadenia reticulata Cocculus hirsutus shows good activity. Among these four potent inhibition compared isoniazid. Thus, result supports uses medicine also helps cure prevent tuberculosis. It can further studied more specific methods

Prevalence ofMultidrug Resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis by Mycobacteria growth indicator tube in Golestan province, North of Iran
Abstract Background and objectives: Identification and monitoring of multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains (MDR) is highlighted by the high risk of their spreading in different areas. Prevalence of these strains was evaluated in Golestan province in northeast of Iran. Material and Methods: Drug susceptibility testing to Isoniazid and rifampin was carried out for 148 clinical sa...
متن کاملRapid detection of multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis using the mycobacteria growth indicator tube (MGIT) system.
The emergence of multidrug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis has increased the need for rapid drug susceptibility tests, which are needed for adequate patient treatment. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the mycobacteria growth indicator tube (MGIT) system to detect multidrug-resistant M. tuberculosis strains. The MGIT system was compared with two standard methods...
متن کامل[Evaluation of mycobacteria growth indicator tube (MGIT) for drug susceptibility testing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates].
Fifty six clinical isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis were tested for drug susceptibility in Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) containing 0.1 microgram/ml of INH, 1.0 microgram/ml of RFP, 3.5 micrograms/ml of EB and 0.8 microgram/ml of SM. These results were compared with those obtained by testing the same M.tuberculosis isolates by the absolute concentration method using 1% Ogawa e...
متن کاملReliability of mycobacteria growth indicator tube for testing susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to ethambutol and streptomycin.
The reliability of mycobacterial growth indicator tubes (MGIT) for testing susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to ethambutol and streptomycin was evaluated by comparing MGIT results to those obtained by the radiometric BACTEC TB system and the method of proportion. The method of proportion was considered the reference method. To resolve discrepancies, all three testing methods were rep...
متن کاملComparison of the Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) with radiometric and solid culture for recovery of acid-fast bacilli.
In a multicenter study involving three reference centers for mycobacteria, the rate of recovery of acid-fast bacilli (AFB) and the mean time to their detection from clinical specimens was determined by using the Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT). These parameters were compared to those assessed by the radiometric BACTEC 460 TB system and by cultivation on solid media. Clinical specimens...
