EFFECT OF EMDR THERAPY ON POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS SYMPTOMS, SYMPTOM SEVERITY AND ANXIETY LEVEL IN PSYCHOTIC PATIENTS WITH AT LEAST ONE TRAUMATIC EVENTS

Introduction Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful psychotherapy approach developed by Francine Shapiro in 1987 when she realized that rhythmic eye movements reduce disturbing thoughts. The effectiveness of the therapy has been proven many studies after its discovery. EMDR, which was initially used only treatment Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, become option psychiatric disorders more than 2 million people today. today, contains elements from schools andconsists phased protocol (Shapiro, 2018). Increasing evidence acknowledging relationship between trauma psychosis indicates EMDR can be vital addition to (Sin & Spain, 2017; Valiente-Gomez et al., 2017). However, effect on not yet sufficiently clarified. There alsoIt clarified whether curative psychotic symptoms or anxiety symptoms.For this reason, our study, these will investigated comparing case control groups. Objectives This study aims evaluate post-traumatic stress symptoms, schizophrenia symptom severity level patients with at least one traumatic event. Methods randomized controlled, prospective follow-up aiming event.Written informed consent participate intervention requested all who meet inclusion criteria. Consent participants receive pre-treatment (T0) measurements. After T0, waiting list Participants randomly assigned 26 each group. These groups made independent randomization bureau Parnassia Institute Psychiatry using scientific program Internet (www.randomizer.org).
