Effect of drilling parameters on the hole surface integrity of low alloy steel for nuclear power during BTA deep hole drilling

Boring trepanning association (BTA) deep hole drilling is widely used in machining tube sheet of steam generator. In order to get a better service integrity, the surface quality after required be higher. this paper, effect mechanism BTA on integrity and machined layer low alloy steel SA508Gr.3Cl.2 for nuclear power investigated. The results show that gradient microstructure can obtained by inner hole, including recrystallized with grain refinement plastic deformation high-density sub-crystal structure distortion. With increase speed feed rate, thickness increases. During drilling, proportion low-angle boundaries (LAGBs) increases increasing depth from surface. leads recrystallization degree LAGBs rate opposite. characterized regular peak valley, there are typical defects mainly involving marks, tearing, plowing grooves. speed, roughness will decrease. obviously lower than speed. hardened gradually, which caused dislocation strengthening fine grain–strengthening during process. Higher recommended forming certain thickness.
