چکیده

In this work, several copper supported catalysts, Cu/Dol, Cu/Al2O3, Cu/Bent, Cu/Mont, and Cu/Talc were prepared using wet impregnation route characterized BET, BJH, XRD, H2-TPR, NH3–TPD, SEM analytical techniques subsequently tested in hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PDO). The nature support was found determine the activation catalysts. Among dolomite catalyst (Cu/Dol) exhibited superior performance due species mutual interaction. findings from various characterization tests showed that presence essentially enriched on grain surfaces, redox properties, acidic property enhanced, as well formation small size contributed high conversion (78.5%) 1,2-PDO selectivity (79%) with low methanol production by-product at 200 °C, 4 MPa H2 10 h reaction conditions.

Hydrogenolysis of Glycerol to 1,2-Propanediol and Ethylene Glycol over Ru-Co/ZrO2 Catalysts

A series of ZrO2 supported Ru-Co bimetallic catalysts were prepared and evaluated for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol. The Ru-Co/ZrO2 bimetallic catalyst combines the advantages of both Ru and Co, exhibiting high activity and good selectivity to 1,2-propanediol. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and TEM results show that higher calcination temperature leads to lower reducibility of cobalt oxides and l...

Polysiloxanes as supports for catalysts

Introduction Immobilization (heterogenization) of catalysts aims to obtain catalysts which combine the advantages of homogeneous catalysts (high activity, selectivity) and heterogeneous ones (stability, ease of separation from the reaction medium and the possibility of re-use in subsequent reaction cycles). One of the most promising directions of research in this field is the use of polymers as...

Key enzymes catalyzing glycerol to 1,3-propanediol

Biodiesel can replace petroleum diesel as it is produced from animal fats and vegetable oils, and it produces about 10 % (w/w) glycerol, which is a promising new industrial microbial carbon, as a major by-product. One of the most potential applications of glycerol is its biotransformation to high value chemicals such as 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PD), dihydroxyacetone (DHA), succinic acid, etc., thro...

Co-Production of Ethanol and 1,2-Propanediol via Glycerol Hydrogenolysis Using Ni/Ce–Mg Catalysts: Effects of Catalyst Preparation and Reaction Conditions

Crude glycerol from biodiesel production is a biobased material capable of co-producing biofuels and chemicals. This study aimed to develop a line of Ni catalysts supported on cerium–magnesium (Ce–Mg) to improve the process efficiency of glycerol hydrogenolysis for ethanol and 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PDO). Results showed that catalytic activity was greatly improved by changing the preparation meth...

Morphology control of clay-mineral particles as supports for metallocene catalysts in propylene polymerization

Spray dry granulation of clay minerals was studied to obtain clay mineral base support material for metallocene supported olefin polymerization catalysts. The morphology of the granules was strongly influenced by the nature of the clay mineral itself. Because of swelling characteristics of montmorillonite, its water dispersion was highly viscous even in the low slurry concentration (< 4 wt %). ...
