Effect of Depth on Ultrasound Point Shear Wave Elastography in an Elasticity Phantom

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Phantom studies are widely used to assess variability in measurements. This study aimed the reliability and accuracy of point Shear Wave elastography (pSWE) measurements an elasticity phantom. Methods: Measurements were obtained by experienced certified clinical sonographer at three different depth levels kPa, using a curvilinear 5-1MHz transducer EPIQ7 ultrasound imaging system. Results: A total 180 pSWE (three cm, five seven cm) phantom background. The mean CV was low all depths (3 cm: 8.8%; 5 7%; 7 7.2%). There significant difference between 3 cm vs. (MD: ?0.85, 95% CI ?1.5, ?0.11, p = 0.024) ?1.1, ?1.7, ?0.47, 0.001). An overestimation noted compared manufacturer’s value (2.7%, 0.006). Conclusions: Superficial SWE this had deep measurement. can be overestimated.

Measuring shear-wave speed with point shear-wave elastography and MR elastography: a phantom study

OBJECTIVES To compare shear-wave speed (SWS) measured by ultrasound-based point shear-wave elastography (pSWE) and MR elastography (MRE) on phantoms with a known shear modulus, and to assess method validity and variability. METHODS 5 homogeneous phantoms of different stiffnesses were made. Shear modulus was measured by a rheometer, and this value was used as the standard. 10 SWS measurements ...

Effect of Calcifications on Breast Ultrasound Shear Wave Elastography: An Investigational Study

PURPOSE To investigate the effects of macrocalcifications and clustered microcalcifications associated with benign breast masses on shear wave elastography (SWE). METHODS SuperSonic Imagine (SSI) and comb-push ultrasound shear elastography (CUSE) were performed on three sets of phantoms to investigate how calcifications of different sizes and distributions influence measured elasticity. To de...

Factors influencing breast elasticity measured by the ultrasound Shear Wave elastography – preliminary results

INTRODUCTION Many physiological changes of breast elasticity depend on the age, hormonal status, menstrual cycle and many others. The aim of this study was to evaluate viscoelastic properties of normal breast tissues in a large group of women and to search for factors which play a role in its mechanical properties. MATERIAL AND METHODS 101 women aged 18-74 years who underwent B-mode sonograph...
