Effect of clopidogrel on post extraction clotting in patients on dual antiplatelet therapy

Purpose: To evaluate the association between platelet inhibition rate of clopidogrel (CLO-PIR) and post-extraction clotting status in DAPT patients.
 Methods: Ninety (90) eligible patients scheduled for a single tooth extraction were enrolled this study. The CLO-PIR aspirin (ASA-PIR) determined by thromboelastography mapping assay. Post-extraction assessments performed, complete intra-alveolar clot formation within 30 min post-operation was defined as normal clotting. For exceeding min, it prolonged bleeding.
 Results: At similar level ASA-PIR, higher proportion with (≤ 75 %) exhibited clotting, compared those featuring high (>75 %, p < 0.001). However, CLO-PIRs, results varied insignificantly, increase ASA-PIR. effect further validated using logistic regression analysis (odds ratio = 1.071, 95 % confidence interval: 1.024 - 1.120, 0.003), receiver operating characteristic curve revealed that 78.6 rational cut-off point.
 Conclusion: This study preliminarily demonstrates prominence responsiveness slowing process patients.
