چکیده
The effect of the duration adsorption step and purge flowrate on performance a demand-driven pressure swing unit (PSA) was investigated. These two operating parameters were varied examined by simultaneously varying requested total productivities (demand) using model for biogas upgrading. considered PSA application uses FAU zeolite (13X) to separate CH4 CO2. is tracked three key indicators (KPIs): purity, recovery productivity. Depending selected KPI constraints, an optimum emerges flowrate. breakthrough carbon dioxide insufficient purging are elements limiting durations above below optimum, respectively. complex interplay among KPIs process visualized three-dimensional representation. Here, various parameter settings (duration flow) define curves 3D surfaces, visualizing all simultaneously. From such graphs, contour plots extracted highlight Pareto frontiers constant productivity or purity constraint.

Producing Nitrogen via Pressure Swing Adsorption
Nitrogen gas is a staple of the chemical industry. Because it is an inert gas, nitrogen is suitable for a wide range of applications covering various aspects of chemical manufacturing, processing, handling, and shipping. Due to its low reactivity, nitrogen is an excellent blanketing and purging gas that can be used to protect valuable products from harmful contaminants. It also enables the safe...
متن کاملProcess intensification in duplex pressure swing adsorption
As an alternative to the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) based on the Skarstrom cycle or its variants, a novel two-bed PSA--called duplex PSA--has been proposed by Hirose and independently by Leavitt to get both products of high purities. Simulation and experimental studies on duplex PSA for CO2 capture indicate that CO2 can be enriched to 95 mol% of feed containing 20 mol% CO2 and 80 mol% N2. ...
متن کاملExtraction of Xenon Using Enriching Reflux Pressure Swing Adsorption
Measuring radioactive xenon isotopes in the atmosphere is an important technique used for monitoring within the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). Several process steps are needed to capture and prepare a xenon sample suitable for transfer to a nuclear detector. These processes include air drying, xenon collection, concentration, and purification. The ideal xenon sampling system woul...
متن کاملRobust Control of a Pressure Swing Adsorption Process
This paper presents the H∞ control of a pressure swing adsorption process. This separation process is characterized by periodic operations. The objective of the control is to assign the trajectory of the output system purity and to reject the perturbation on the inlet composition. The control design is synthetized from some Hammerstein model that approximates the cyclic process. The control sch...
