چکیده

Background: Spinal anesthesia is the most common neuraxial for infraumblical surgeries. The use of various adjuvants has become popular in today’s scenario to enhance its quality. Aims and Objectives: aim this study was evaluate onset, duration sensory motor block, hemodynamic effects (if any), post-operative analgesia, adverse fentanyl or magnesium given intrathecally with 0.5% bupivacaine heavy patients undergoing hysterectomy. Materials Methods: This prospective randomized double-blinded conducted total sixty hysterectomy, divided into two groups 30 each. Group F received 25 μg 3 mL M 100 mg sulfate heavy. onset blockade, hemodyamics, side were assessed. Results: mean time block less (P<0.001). Duration sensory, analgesia more group (P<0.001), whereas incidence such as bradycardia, hypotension, shivering magnesium. Conclusion: Our concluded that addition adjuvant effectively augmented quality spinal anesthesia, but provided stable hemodynamics lesser compared fentanyl.

Background: Anticholinesterases increase the concentration of acetylcholine at the postsynaptic sites which cause prolonged analgesia. Aims Objectives: To evaluate and compare the effects of intrathecal neostigmine and intrathecal fentanyl on post-operative pain relief. Materials and Methods: After informed consent, 60 female patients of age between 40 and 60 years, belonging to ASA Grades 1 an...

Effect of adding magnesium sulfate to intrathecal low-dose of bupivacaine for patients with severe pre-eclampsia undergoing cesarean delivery

Background: Intrathecal magnesium sulfate, an NMDA antagonist, has been shown to prolong analgesia and potentiates spinal anesthesia without significant side effects in parturients. This study aimed to explore the hypothesis that adding magnesium sulfate to intrathecal low-dose of bupivacaine and sufentanil can prolong the spinal analgesia in patients with severe pre-eclampsia. Methods: Sixty p...

Effect of Adding Fentanyl to Bupivacaine on Patients Undergoing Transurethral Resection of the Prostate with Spinal Anesthesia: A Clinical trial

Background and purpose: Spinal anesthesia is commonly used in transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). To reduce the complications of spinal anesthesia, opioids could be helpful in decreasing the amount of anesthetic drug. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of low doses of bupivacaine and fentanyl on the levels of sensory block and motor block. Materials and methods: A cli...

Perioperative Effects of Intrathecal Clonidine and Fentanyl with Hyperbaric Bupivacaine in Spinal Anesthesia for Vaginal Hysterectomy

Objectives: Intrathecal fentanyl and clonidine are effective analgesics with different mechanisms of action. This study compares 25 μg of both these drugs given intrathecally regarding onset, quality, and duration of hyperbaric bupivacaine-induced spinal block and side effects. Methods: A total of 90 patients of ASA I and II were randomly allocated into three equal groups. Group A received 0.5 ...
