چکیده

Organophosphate pesticides, especially chlorpyrifos, are one of the most widely used insecticides in agriculture, but their toxicity and potential sensitivity effects on Anura, Fejervarya limnocharis still unknown. The purpose this investigation is to study F. (Anura: Dicroglossidae) tadpole lethal (survivability) sublethal (morphological alterations swimming activity) chlorpyrifos Dursban 200EC commercial formula under acute exposure. An test was carried out ten tadpoles (Gosner 25) each repetition. sample obtained from artificial reproduction by injecting Trial Batch 2000 IU hCG Kings Lab. testing consisted three replicates with a concentration 0; 0.4; 0.8; 1; 2; 4; 8 µg/L. Physico-chemical parameters, mortality, morphological, were observed at 24th, 48th, 72nd, 96th hours. LC50 for 2.86 percentage survivability decreased after exposure above 1µg/L, while morphological 2 µg/L 4 48th hours exposure, have occurred 24th Morphological including asymmetrical body shape, edema, abnormal tail shape. Based value, has high-level tadpoles. Keywords: Acute, Chlorpyrifos, 200 EC, limnocharis, Tadpoles

A new species of the Fejervarya limnocharis complex from Japan (Anura, Dicroglossidae).

We describe a new species of dicroglossid frog of the Fejervarya limnocharis complex from western Honshu, Japan Mainland. The new species, Fejervarya kawamurai, is genetically closer to F. sakishimensis than to F. limnocharis. It differs from F. sakishimensis by smaller tympanum, head, forelimb, hindlimb, foot, and tibia lengths, all relative to snout-vent length, and from F. multistriata by re...

Acute Toxicity of an Organophosphate Insecticide Chlorpyrifos to an Anuran, Rana cyanophlyctis

Background: Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate pesticide that elicits broad-spectrum insecticidal activity against a number of important arthropod pests. Determining the insecticides’ toxicity to amphibians can give us a better understanding regarding the role of toxicants in amphibian declines. This information would be beneficial to assess their ecological relevance at environmental con...

Impact of Atrazine on Organophosphate Insecticide Toxicity

Acute toxicity of selected organophosphorus insecticides (OPs; chlorpyrifos, methyl parathion, diazinon, and malathion) was determined for individual OPs and binary combinations of the OPs with atrazine to larvae of the midge Chironomus tentans. Atrazine individually was not acutely toxic even at high concentrations (10,000 mg/L); however, the presence of atrazine at much lower concentrations (...
