Education in official statistics: A common challenge of providers of official statistics and universities

In the fast-changing environment, amount of available data is exploding and transforming it quickly into actionable information not easy. Thus, reliable comparable statistics are in increasingly high demand by public, even more so troubled times such as financial crisis pandemics. However, also an exciting opportunity to tap interest young people harness their talent for working with official statistics. Two initiatives at European level already place advance education As production environment started change rapid evolution technologies new sources, Eurostat together Statistical System (ESS) brought life Training Programme (ESTP) Master Official Statistics (EMOS). This papers briefly describes origin main characteristics both models training, bridges that they build, discusses way ahead.
