چکیده

Edible plants began to play an important role in past decade as a part of therapy, recovery process or healthy life style. The availability and relatively low price the raw material, well proven bioactive health benefits, are key consumers’ choice nutrients. red clover (Trifolium pratense) is popular plant with properties such antiseptic analgesic effects. less known white repens), fodder honey plant, has anti-rheumatic anti-diabetic properties. Both species may serve potential source substances antioxidant food additive supplement. study material consisted flower extracts Trifolium repens pratense. total content polyphenols DPPH (2.2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) ferric reducing power (FRAP) were measured using spectrophotometry methods. Oxidative stress THP1 cells was induced via sodium fluoride. Subsequently, added their influences on proliferation, activity enzymes evaluated. have high potential. We also demonstrated positive impact increasing cell cultures under oxidative by valuable sources antioxidants everyday diet.

Antioxidant activities of aqueous extracts from 12 Chinese edible flowers in vitro and in vivo

The antioxidant function of edible flowers have attracted increasing interest. However, information is lacking on the impact of edible flowers on oxidative injury including hypoxia-re-oxygenation and hyperlipidemia. The antioxidant activities of aqueous extracts from 12 Chinese edible flowers were assessed in four different antioxidant models, including total antioxidant capacity (TAC), oxygen ...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Evaluation of antioxidant activities of extracts from 19 Chinese edible flowers

Extracts of 19 selected edible flowers were investigated for their free radical scavenging activity (FRSA), polyphenolic contents and flavonoid contents in the paper. The results showed the extracts of Paeonia suffruticosa Andr., Paeonia lactiflora Pall., and Rosa rugosa Thunb. possessed obviously stronger DPPH FRSA (94.221 ± 0.102; 93.739 ± 0.424 and 94.244 ± 0.163%, respectively), superoxide ...

Antioxidant properties and antioxidant compounds of various extracts from the edible basidiomycete Grifola frondosa (Maitake).

Grifola frondosa is an edible mushroom currently available in Taiwan. Ethanolic, cold-water and hot-water extracts were prepared and their antioxidant properties were investigated. At 1 mg/mL, G. frondosa T1 and T2 cold-water extracts showed high reducing powers of 1.02 and 0.50, respectively. Chelating abilities on ferrous ions of G. frondosa T1 and T2 were higher for cold-water extracts than ...

Chemically engineered extracts as an alternative source of bioactive natural product-like compounds.

The access to libraries of molecules with interesting biomolecular properties is a limiting step in the drug discovery process. By virtue of a long molecular evolution process, natural products are recognized as biologically validated starting points in structural space for library development. We introduce here a strategy to generate natural product-like libraries. A semisynthetic mixture of c...
