Ecophysiological response of Astronium fraxinifolium (Anacardiaceae) in degraded and non-degraded brazilian Cerrado

چکیده

Abstract Plants native from Cerrado generally have peculiar characteristics that allow tolerating water and nutritional stress. Astronium fraxinifolium is a Anacardiaceae tree of Brazilian Cerrado. The aim this research was to characterize A. leaves morphophysiologically, in order recognize related acclimatization the species different soil conditions. Two populations were sampled study areas, A1 (Degraded Soil) A2 (“Undegraded Soil”). Nitrogen compounds, total carbohydrates, chlorophyll, content, stomatal density gas exchanges quantified, comparing areas. A high number stomata observed on abaxial surface leaves, with higher occurring individuals. values chlorophyll boron content significantly plants. It’s possible lowest concentration plants production. Regardinf other analysis, there weren’t significant differences between results show undergoes changes production but liquid photosynthesis isn’t impaired, considering low being compensated by density. Thus, these may be result acclimating environmental conditions which it’s exposed.

Expression of stress-related genes in zebrawood (Astronium fraxinifolium, Anacardiaceae) seedlings following germination in microgravity

Seeds of a tropical tree species from Brazil, Astronium fraxinifolium, or zebrawood, were germinated, for the first time in microgravity, aboard the International Space Station for nine days. Following three days of subsequent growth under normal terrestrial gravitational conditions, greater root length and numbers of secondary roots was observed in the microgravity-treated seedlings compared t...

Boundary Normalization for Recognition of Non-Touching Non-Degraded Characters

This paper presents a new approach to recognition of non-touching non-degraded characters. Our methods works on boundary functions of characters, and attempts to normalize these functions to orientation and size variations of the symbols. This allows to apply any one-dimensional transform in order to extract invariant features. We validated this approach by performing several experiments on bot...

Assessment of Critical Condition for Rill Initiation on Degraded Hillslope

Generally, the evaluation and assessment critical condition of rill formation are useful for a better understanding of soil erosion processes. The inherence characteristics of soils, which have much dynamic variations on the hill-slopes and are affected by rill formation, are the soil critical shear stress and soil erodibility factors. This study aims to assess experimental rill incision thre...

Reliability Analysis of Redundant Repairable System with Degraded Failure

This investigation deals with the transient analysis of the machine repair system consisting of M-operating units operating under the care of single repairman. To improve the system reliability/availability, Y warm standby and S cold standby units are provided to replace the failed units. In case when all spares are being used, the failure of units occurs in degraded fashion. In such situation ...

Regularized Restoration of Partial-Response Distortions in Sporadically Degraded Images

The complex image degradations observed in (video) image sequences are often due to partial-response mechanisms caused by the physical limitations of practical cameras. The restoration of these distortions require more sophisticated image models that consider the underlying image acquisition process. In this work, a broad class of spatially varying distortions is de ned. The observed image is m...
