چکیده

The tourism sector makes a sizable contribution to country’s gross domestic product, increasing employment opportunities, foreign currency earnings, and economic diversification strategies. This paper uses the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) model analyze effects of on environment in world’s top 10 tourist countries from 1972 2021. Panel cointegration second-generation unit root tests are suggested due presence cross-sectional dependence slope heterogeneity. A cross-sectional-autoregressive-distributed lag (CS-ARDL) is applied evaluate marginal influence environmental variables other than carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. These include fossil fuels, renewable energy, nuclear energy. For purpose testing robustness, both augmented mean group (AMG) common correlated (CCEMG) estimators employed. CS-ARDL supports EKC hypothesis short run long run, but it not significant run. existence demonstrates that rising income leads fewer CO2 All forms degradation can be accelerated by using fuels. results this study indicate emissions reduced energy rise activity has positive impact quality. best-attended spots around globe those that, implement clean energy-related technology promote ecotourism.

Economic growth and energy consumption: New evidence using continuous wavelet

This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in the Iranian economy. To that end, a wavelet transformation technique is used, which allows us to combine the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of two time series together. Using this approach and data for the period 1991:2 – 2017:1, this study tries to overcome the shortcomings of  standard eco...

Structural breaks, tourism development, and economic growth: Evidence from Taiwan

Our paper differs from previous studies by examining the issue of whether regime changes have broken down the stability of the long-run relationships between tourism development and real GDP in Taiwan for the 1959–2003 period. We empirically investigate the co-movements and the causal relationships among real GDP, tourism development, and the real exchange rate in a multivariate model. We use t...

Carbon Dioxide Emissions, economic growth and energy mix: empirical evidence from 93 countries

This paper provides an empirical analysis of CO2 emissions and economic growth, based on a panel dataset covering 93 countries over the period 1960-2008, and examines the challenge of country selection for homogenous and appropriates groups. Foremost, we have proposed a no parametric hierarchic clustering approach, based on 17 criteria and used the Hierarchical Clustering on Principal Component...
