Economic efficiency of Colombian agricultural companies: an empirical study of stochastic production frontiers

By estimating a stochastic frontier production function that links labor and capital variables in 410 agricultural companies, the behavior of productive efficiency Colombia was evaluated, as well its effects by geographic location business size. Results showed factors contribute most to are related force, liquidity intangible assets, aspects provide competitive advantages for medium large companies; therefore, we suggest improve political-private strategy management with incentives associativity, economic financing, access R+D+i transfer, directed small companies.
