Eccrine Angiomatous Hamartoma Occurring on the Nail Bed

A 71-year-old woman was referred to our clinic with a 2-month history of pain and exudate from her right first toe. Physical examination revealed subungual nodule that elevated the nail plate produced distal onycholysis. We performed onychectomy removed nodule. histopathological specimen showed hyperkeratosis acanthosis in epidermis, papillomatosis dilated vessels superficial dermis, aggregation eccrine glands mid-dermis. Based on these findings, diagnosis angiomatous hamartoma (EAH) made. EAH is rare cutaneous histologically characterized by proliferation vascular components. To knowledge, occurring region has not been reported. The pathogenesis acquired completely elucidated, but several cases have reported be caused external stimuli. Although area generally no sweat glands, case suggests traumatic stimulus can induce anywhere including regions where are normally found.
