چکیده
There is a growing interest to document and better understand patterns processes involved in non-native bee introductions subsequent colonisation of new areas worldwide. We studied the spread East Asian Megachile sculpturalis Serbia south-eastern Europe; was earlier established USA (since 1994) western Europe 2008). Its establishment remained dubious throughout most 2017–2019, following its first detection. hereby report on spreading, which were corroborated 2019 under specific circumstances. Owing an exceptionally poor blooming Styphnolobium japonicum 2019, we recorded high activity density M. concentrated scarce key food resource. present novel quantitative approach for improved early detection , based interplay between local occurrence pattern dynamics food-plant(s) availability. This seems particularly effective during early-phase colonisation, at initially low population introduced bees. address importance integration genuine plant usage with context-specific assessment options establishing monitoring. The understanding triggered questions about possible origin(s) modes dispersal east Alps. To explore scenarios introduction(s), extended study wider spatio-temporal context – region SE (2015–2019). two complementary approaches (at regional scale) provided more comprehensive evidence history varied recording contexts. Based this two-scale approach, suggest that diffusive mode introduction into now be plausible scenario (than long-distance jump). argue outcomes from contrasting (a systematic surveillance, resources broad-scale opportunistic recording) could great methodological relevance development future monitoring protocols.

Range expansion of the Asian native giant resin bee Megachile sculpturalis (Hymenoptera, Apoidea, Megachilidae) in France
In 2008, a new species for the French bee fauna was recorded in Allauch near Marseille: the giant resin bee, Megachile sculpturalis (Smith, 1853). This was the first European record of this species that is native to East Asia. To our knowledge, it is the first introduced bee species in Europe. Here, we provide an overview of the current distribution of M. sculpturalis in France and we describe ...

Data on offspring production by the alfalfa leafcutting bee, Megachile rotundata (F.), from three site-years were used to examine predictions of parental investment and sex ratio theory. In northern Utah, spring-emergent adults produce two types of offspring: those that develop directly to the adult stage and emerge in midsummer, and those that develop to the prepupal stage and enter diapause u...

BACKGROUND Megachile (Callomegachile) sculpturalis Smith, the giant resin bee, is an adventive species in the United States. First established in the United States during the early 1990s, records currently exist from most states east of the Mississippi River along with Iowa and Kansas. NEW INFORMATION New distributional records are presented for Megachile (Callomegachile) sculpturalis Smith, ...
متن کاملA new species of Megachile Latreille subgenus Megachiloides (Hymenoptera, Megachilidae)
A new species of leafcutter bee, Megachile (Megachiloides) chomskyi, is described from Texas, United States. Megachile chomskyi is one of the four known species of the oenotherae species group of Megachiloides, all members sharing the long tongue, and is most similar to Megachile (Megachiloides) amica Cresson. Like other members of the oenotherae species group, this species probably shows oligo...

This study was carried out in the Parque Municipal das Araucárias, located in the municipality of Guarapuava (PR) from May (06) to April (07). Its aim was to investigate which plants are used by Megachile (Moureapis) sp in provisioning of larvae, and to verify if this bee is oligolectic or polilectic. The collection of the plants was carried out during the bees activity period and in an area co...
