Early Performance of Several Prunus Interspecific Hybrid Rootstocks for Redhaven Peach in Southern Ontario

چکیده
A multi-year orchard experiment was established to measure the performance of Rootpac®-R, Rootpac®-20, Rootpac®-40, and Rootpac®-70 rootstocks using ‘Redhaven’ peach (Prunus persica var. persica) as scion, compared with Bailey seedling rootstock, current industry standard. Tree survival after five years 79% on Rootpac-40, whereas remaining showed no tree mortality. vigour canopy height width were influenced by rootstock genotype beginning year planting in 2016. For first production, Rootpac-70 consistently produced largest trees based TCSA five, all similar TCSAs, except for Rootpac-70, which 38% larger than Bailey. By cumulative yields greatest 10% higher Bailey; Rootpac-R, Rootpac-20, Rootpac-30 98%, 89%, 84% that Bailey, respectively. Cumulative yield efficiency significantly although magnitude differences small likely insignificant commercial importance. Rootpac-40 fruit. Graft Compatibility Between Peach Cultivars and Prunus Rootstocks
Trials were established at Aula Dei Experimental Station (EEAD-CSIC, Zaragoza, Spain) to assess graft compatibility between peach cultivars [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch] and new Prunus spp. rootstocks or selections. Peach cvs. Catherina and Tebana and nectarine cvs. Big Top and Summergrand were grafted on peach seedlings, plum rootstocks, almond x peach hybrids, and other interspecific rootstock...
متن کاملThe relationship of hydraulic conductance to root system characteristics of peach (Prunus persica) rootstocks
doi: 10.1111/j.1399-3054.2006.00747.x Specific rootstocks can differentially influence the vegetative growth and development of fruit trees. However, the physiological mechanism involved in this phenomenon has been elusive. Recent research comparing different peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) rootstocks suggests that the rootstock effect on vegetative growth in peach trees is associated to water...
متن کاملMeasurement of Indole-3-Acetic Acid in Peach Fruits (Prunus persica L. Batsch cv Redhaven) during Development.
The amount of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) was measured in peach fruits by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-selective ion monitoring using an isotope dilution assay with [(13)C(6)]IAA as an internal standard throughout the growing season. Ethylene evolution of the fruit was also measured. IAA levels were 25 nanograms per gram fresh weight, 18 days after anthesis. Both IAA levels and rates of ...
متن کاملEffect of Essential Oils on Postharvest Decay and Some Quality Factors of Peach (Prunus persica var. Redhaven )
The aim of the study was to determine the antifungal effects of the essential oils against fungal pathogen Botrytis cinerea the causal agent of grey mould disease of peach (Prunus persica L.) under in vitro and in vivo conditions. Treatments consisted of four essential oils (anise, ammi, ziziphora and cinnamon) and five concentrations (0, 200, 400, 600 and 800 μL.L).Results of in vitro experime...
متن کاملPreliminary Evaluation of Productivity and Fruit Quality for Seven Peach Rootstocks in Chile
Fruit productivity and quality of eight years peach and nectarine cultivars (Rich Lady, Ryan Sun, Ruby Diamond and Venus) grafted onto Cadaman-Avimag, Viking, Atlas, GxN 15, GF 677, MRS 2/5 and Nemaguard (control) rootstocks were evaluated. A Split Plot experimental design was used, with each rootstock/scion combination as an experimental unit. Total yield, fruit size distribution, number of fr...
