Dynamics of wheat root colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi under contrasting soil tillage systems and its impact on grain yield

چکیده
In this work, we investigated the effect of soil tillage farming system on variability arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) root colonization a local durum wheat variety, conducted during five years experimental trial in semi-arid region eastern Algeria. No improved AMF symbiotic activity from fourth year testing with appearance high percentage arbuscules at tillering and grain filling stage. Compared to that, conventional was marked by observation vesicles especially filling. Despite inter-annual fluctuations, no average yield 20%. Multiple regressions analyses using stepwise selection method were made formulate an equation linking components specific each system.

Further root colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in already mycorrhizal plants is suppressed after a critical level of root colonization.
An established arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis suppresses further mycorrhization. It is not clear whether the observed suppressional effect is linked with the level of root colonization or not. In the present work we studied the effect of the degree of root colonization by the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus mosseae on further root colonization by G. mosseae. At different time points barl...
متن کاملYield and growth characteristics of sunflower cultivars inoculated by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi under drought tension conditions
One of the new methods for optimum management and increasing the efficiency of water resources utilization in agricultural uses is the use of irrigation methods. Considering the importance of this issue, this research was carried out to determine the effect of mycorrhizal fungi on the yield of sunflower cultivars under drought tension conditions and as split split plots based on randomized comp...
متن کاملInfluence of arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculation and humic acid application on growth and yield of Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) and its mycorrhizal colonization index under deficit irrigation
In this study effect of irrigation managements including irrigation after 100 and 200 mm pan evaporation as normal and deficit irrigation respectively was investigated in Roselle plants. Effects of humic acid (including 0 and 4 kg ha-1) and mycorrhizal inoculants (including Glomus versiforme (GV) and Rhizophagus irregularis (RI)) were also studied on growth, yield and mycorrhizal symbiosis inde...
متن کاملEffect of biochar on nitrogen retention in soil under corn plant inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi
Maintaining the levels of nitrogen in agricultural fields to ensure crop yield performance is challenging due to the complex dynamics of nitrogen transformation in soil. Nitrogen is mainly taken up by plant roots in the form of nitrate, but it is considered as an environmental pollutant that threatens human and animal health. Therefore, it is necessary to use adsorbent compounds to retain nitra...
متن کاملAre there benefits of simultaneous root colonization by different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi?
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (AMF) communities were established in pots using fungal isolates from a single field in Switzerland. It was tested whether multispecies mixtures provided more phosphorus and supported greater plant growth than single AMF species. Two host plants, medic (Medicago truncatula) and leek (Allium porrum), were inoculated with three AMF species (Glomus mosseae, G. claroid...
