Dynamics of Urban Land per Capita in China from 2000 to 2016

As a proxy for human activity, per capita urban land has great significance planning. We still lack comprehensive understanding of from the perspective urban–rural gradients. Thus, based on concentric buffering method and dynamic-time-warp clustering method, this research analyzes gradient 345 cities in China 2000, 2010, 2016. find that grew 110.2 m2/person 2000 to 118.9 m2/person, increasing by 7.9%. The can be classified into six types: (1) large city with mono peak; (2) fluctuating increase; (3) medium (4) declining trend; (5) small peak, (6) trend. In addition, most shifted mono-peak type type, which suggested low-density, sprawling development was intensifying. used effectively compare trends across cities, applied analysis air pollution, green space, heat islands.
