Fission of micron-size charged droplets has been observed using optical methods, but little is known about fission dynamics and breakup smaller nanosize that are important in a variety natural industrial processes. Here, spontaneous individual aqueous nanodrops formed by electrospray investigated charge detection mass spectrometry. processes ranging from formation just two progeny 2 ms to production dozens over 100+ for above the Rayleigh limit. These results indicate continuum produce vary widely charge, mass, number.
