Dynamic Performance Detection of CFRP Composite Pipes based on Quasi-Distributed Optical Fiber Sensing Techniques

For the high strength, corrosion resistance, and good stability, carbon fiber–reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites have been made into pipes to transfer gasses oils in subsea environment. Structural performance of CFRP composite is particularly important sustain regular operation delivery system. To obtain in-field behavior pipes, quasi-distributed optical fiber sensing techniques are developed based on multiple configuration Bragg grating (FBG) elements. Theoretical investigation dynamic response performed. Experiments cantilever with surface-attached FBGs series packaged FBG sensors conducted check feasibility effectiveness proposed technique. Results validate measurement accuracy vibration analysis. The study can be adopted instruct establishment structural health monitoring system assess safety state pipe systems.
